YEG Photographer - A year in review
Jan 4, 2023 | By: Beautiful Chaos Photography
Wow to sum up 2022 will be hard. I know I fell behind on blogging, but I had reached a point where I felt like giving up. And to be honest, sometimes I still feel that way. Between covid and my business pages being hacked and now a recession with everything going up in price, it's hard to hold on to hope that my business is capable of thriving. I have seen so many artists this past year close the doors to their studios and some even hanging up their hats as photographers. People who have been in the industry for decades.
My motivation to keep pushing through is my clients. The power that photography has is inspiring. The tears in a mothers eyes as she sees her family snuggled together lovingly in the photos, help motivate her to keep pushing through those days that they just feel bone weary, exhausted and emotions are running high. Or the love in the eyes of the father as he basks in the glory that is his pregnant wife. Or the memories I know those children will treasure when family members are long gone. The hugs I get after capturing those boudoir photos for a woman who has long since stopped loving her body. This is what motivates me to push through.
I personally also have had to step back from photographing any event that goes longer than three hours. Physically my body just can not support being on my feet for that long, the pain is too much and stepping back was the best thing I could do for me. To listen to my body and what it needs. This means that in 2023 I will be exploring new things and experimenting with other forms of photography, and I just can not wait to see what 2023 brings. I hope that my business can push through this economic crisis and thrive to become what I have always dreamed for it.
Here is 2022 in review. Thank you to all the beautiful and amazing clients for your continued support.
